The Laboratory for Dosimetry Standards was established at Jozef Stefan Institute in 1992 to offer high quality metrological support to ionizing radiation measurements connected primarily to radiation protection of people and environment. The laboratory is a part of slovenian metrology network coordinated by the the slovenian Standards and Metrology Institute, maintaining the national reference standard for absorbed and equivalent doses of gamma radiation. The laboratory is accedited according to the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard by Slovenian accrediation. Legislative act for testing and verifying radiation protection equipment is given by the Ministry of Public Health within the law which regulates radiation protection. |
